Gratton School has a dedicated agriculture department complete with a lush vegetable garden, a bustling chicken farm and a pig farm – all brought together and run with enthusiasm by both teachers and committed students. Agriculture is not just a practical subject, it is also a full part of the secondary school curriculum.

Most of the crop finds its way to the boarding school kitchens, and sometimes some is sold if we have too much of a certain vegetable. We have big ambitions to expand our already lush vegetable garden by adding more greenhouse tunnels. This not only improves the growing conditions, it also ensures that our curious monkey friends do not have access ??

A big thank you goes out to our dedicated sponsors who make such generous contributions! The support includes everything from necessary agricultural equipment such as a disc harrow for the tractor, a greenhouse tunnel that provides ideal growing conditions, useful cuttings for further cultivation, and last but not least, pigs and chickens that add extra charm to the school.
