The boarding schools at Gratton School

A boarding school is more than bunk beds and lockers. It is the light from a nightlight over reading books, whispered laughter in the hallways, and a safe embrace when the longing becomes too great. At Gratton School, our children get a new home – close to school, close to their friendships, and close to the adults who follow them through each week.

Why boarding school?

For many of our children, their family home is miles away. If they are to have a chance at a good education, they must live in a boarding school. Their new home will therefore be the key to a stable and good school life. Here there are fixed routines with homework, meals and evening quiet – and at the same time all the invisible things that shape a person: sharing, helping, apologizing and trying again.

School and support

Everyday life is about school first – always. After dinner there is a common homework time, and those who need extra help get it. Thanks to a separate fundraising campaign, the children have access to both school books and digital tools such as PCs and tablets. For those who struggle a little with math, we have extra hours with a teacher – small steps that make a big difference.

Everyday life and creative joy

Once homework is done, it's time for everything that makes childhood rich: sports and ball games outside in the grass, board games and drawing inside, yarn crackling, and laughter filling the rooms.
